A Pillar Box Red Wedding in Crudwell Village // Rebecca & William
On the blog today, we are featuring Rebecca and William and their fantastic Wedding in Crudwell Village. Pillar Box Red was most definitely the theme of this wedding; William is a postman, so I guess that the inspiration was drawn from actual Royal Mail pillar boxes, but how perfect that it just happens to be the colour of the moment right now! As well as romantic red roses and crimson bridesmaid dresses, there was even a real red post box for all of the guests to post their cards, which was a super touch.
Romantic red roses
The ceremony was held at The Church of All Saints in Crudwell, a beautiful Cotswolds village and Rebecca and William had set up a marquee in the grounds of the village hall for the wedding breakfast. We had planned to get some Bride and Groom portraits around the village in the afternoon, but the torrential summer rain which suddenly started after the ceremony meant we all had to run for cover instead.
Bright red brollies
Luckily the bride and groom were prepared and out came the bright red brollies. It didn’t stop us trying again later in the day, despite everyone getting a bit wet. Whilst rain is never wished for, I do love photographing couples in the rain as you get to capture some hurried but amazing and very real and fun moments. And then even better – the sun decided to make the most fleeting of appearances during our evening portrait session (for about 45 seconds). Thankfully I had the 85mm with me and managed to grab some truly beautiful, backlight, warm, summer portraits. It all worked out in the end!
One tradition I haven’t seen for a while at weddings is the bouquet toss, so was delighted when a few of the bridesmaids decided to demonstrate their own interpretation of this (after a few glasses of wine), obviously hoping to increase their chances that that they would be next down the aisle.
I hope you enjoy some of my favourite frames from Rebecca and William’s brilliant Wedding in Crudwell Village.
