Bristol Portrait Photographer // Luba & JP

Classical cellist, Luba, got in touch last year as she was looking for a Bristol Portrait Photographer to take some promo shots of her and pianist, Jean-Paul for an upcoming album release in 2017.  I got to know Luba a couple of years ago, when I was shooting her beautiful wedding at Crewe Hall so it was great to hear from her again, especially as it was to work on such an exciting photography project.

Luba and JP had a couple of requirements; they wanted a variety of studio based images and also some environmental portraits of the two of them for their album sleeve. I’ve been dying to feature these images on the blog, and am delighted to be able to show the studio portraits at last. (But the environmental portraits are still a closely guarded secret and will have to wait for a future post!)

For the studio shoot, the brief was simple, we just needed to get a couple of individual head shots each and a selection of images of them together, as well as some which featured Luba’s cello.  I do love shooting in the studio as things are 100{be77489a07b72f45d31bc917c73944d40e0fe2e4018ec17de7b4541af6619500} within my control and the pace is so much slower compared to shooting weddings. I also love any opportunity to get out the studio lights, which tend to get forgotten about during the wedding season.

After we’d got the formal shots, we also had a bit of time to have some fun using some fairy lights as the backdrop whilst Luba serenaded the studio with a few bars of some beautiful, classical music. Once we had wrapped up the shoot in the studio, it was down to the serious business of reviewing the images over tea and cake and work on choosing the final selection of shots.

I can’t wait to get a physical copy of the album and see the final artwork. I am sure the music will be beautiful, relaxing and just the ticket for long photo editing sessions as the wedding season intensifies. I’ll be sure to post a link to the album on iTunes once released for you all to check out.

Anyway, that’s enough from me but if you are looking for a Bristol Portrait Photographer for any family sessions, headshots or environmental portraits, I’d love to hear from you, so do get in touch.
