about me

If you have made it this far, chances are you like my photography style and might even be thinking about booking me (which would be ace!) If we are going to be working together, you might want to know a little bit more about me…

I discovered photography in 2012 and quickly found it to be the creative outlet I had always sought. I have an IT / software development background and one of the things that attracted me to photography was the blend of technical and creative elements. I still love learning about new cameras and lighting and discovering the wonders of photo editing software.

Of all the different types of photography, I’m drawn to people, moments, emotion and reaction. A wedding is the perfect environment to experience all of this, and was the main driver for setting up my wedding photography business.

Also, I really love the ‘access all areas’ pass you get when photographing a wedding – taking the pictures that no one else gets, of people at their happiest.

There is no better feeling than when I capture a spontaneous moment (be it of the couple, a loved one or close friend) and they are lost for words or cry when seeing it for the first time on the screen of my camera.

I always think this is what it’s all about and it’s a privilege to know that some of the pictures I take may well become someone’s most prized possessions. Being able to produce a body of work that perfectly captures each couple’s wedding from start to end is so rewarding.

I am a very cheery, bubbly, chatty person who is passionate about photography and weddings.

Whilst I’m as inconspicuous as possible for certain parts of the wedding (ceremony & speeches), I’ll probably chat and interact with the entire wedding party through the rest of the day; I smile, laugh, joke with them whilst snapping away.

I work my hardest to make sure everyone is relaxed and ignores the fact that I have a camera. Once this relationship is established, the real genuine, camera unaware moments happen and I’ll be there to capture them!

The couple’s portrait sessions I shoot are always very jolly and relaxed. Ultimately, I am looking for genuine laughter and emotion and I do all that I can to bring this out so we can get some really beautiful, natural portraits.

Away from photography, I am happily married to the lovely Marie and we work together on the photo editing and album design process. We got married at Cripps Barn in the Cotswolds on the most beautiful day in February. (I think having been through the wedding process is a huge benefit, as I understand the moments that are most important to you and also the enormous amount of work and love that has gone into all the preparation. I make sure that I capture all of this, so your big day is remembered perfectly.)  A recent addition to the family is our gorgeous Labrador puppy, Otto. He helps us explore the local area, scoping out photography locations, and is also great company during the long hours of editing sessions.  I also enjoy cycling, skiing, wine and travel – which gives me further opportunity to indulge in taking beautiful photos.

Thanks for taking time to find out a little bit more about me and I would love to hear from you if you think my style is what you’re looking for. I’d love to work with you and provide you with something really unique and special.
