Here are the answers to some of the questions I get asked more frequently:

How Do I Go About Booking You?

My booking process is very simple. Firstly, I will send over a copy of my contract for you both to read, sign and return. Once I have received the signed contract, all I ask is for a deposit of £100 and that’s it – I am yours for the day.

Are You Insured?

Absolutely. I am fully insured for both Professional Indemnity & Public Liability and can provide certificates upon request if necessary.

What Happens If You Are Unwell?

I have never missed a wedding to date and have barely taken a sick day in my working life, so fear not, I will be photographing your wedding if you’ve booked me. That said, I am a member of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP) and they have an SOS hotline I can use in case of emergencies. In such situations, I would ensure to find a photographer with a similar style to my own and arrange for them to cover your wedding. Whilst I have never had to make use of this, it’s nice to know there is cover there in case of that one in a million emergency.

Do Your Prices Include VAT?

Yes. All of the prices quoted on my website are fully inclusive of VAT. No hidden charges, no surprise bills. What you see is what you pay.

Will I Get All The Raw Files?

In short, no. RAW files need specialist software for you to view them, tend to be very large in size and look a little flat and dull if I am honest. The hi-resolution, hand edited JPEGS that I do deliver, however, look stunning and are yours to print, create albums with, share and post all over social media.

Do We Have To Have Formal Group Pictures?

Not at all. This is totally up to you. I have no fixed format in terms of how I cover your day so just let me know at any point during our time working together and I will ensure you get the coverage you want.

Do You Use Flash?

If at all possible, I prefer to use natural light over artificial flash as it means I can blend in and not draw attention to myself. There are parts of the day however that do sometimes need flash to capture the moment (and capture it well) so I do carry some speedlights with me to cover all bases. I take pride in my ability to use flash sympathetically and your images will all look soft and naturally lit, even if I had to use flash.

What Happens If It Rains?

My ethos here is hope for the best and prepare for the worst. During my pre-wedding site visit, I am always looking for beautiful spots for photos (both inside and out) so if the worst happens and it does rain, I always have a backup plan for where we can get some beautiful frames.

Do We Need To Feed You?

I know first hand how expensive weddings are and there is no need for me to make it any more expensive, so I am perfectly happy to feed myself. If there is an option of a meal however, that is always greatly appreciated and I am totally happy to wolf that down in the kitchen with the other suppliers.

What Equipment Do You Use?

I take pride is using only the best professional grade photography equipment from Sony and Profoto to ensure your day is captured beautifully. I also bring lots of backup equipment with me so I know I can always document your day fully, even if something decides to stop working.

How Long Do I Have To Wait For My Images?

I usually have a few preview / teaser images ready a couple of days after your wedding, which I like to post on Facebook and Instagram. The rest of your images will be available 4-6 weeks after your wedding (if not a wee bit sooner).

Do You Work Alone?

Normally I work as the principal photographer with my assistant (who is a god send). For larger weddings or when you need additional coverage, I can arrange for a second photographer at an additional cost. I only ever work with photographers whose style is similar to my own and who share my approach to photography.

Do Your Prices Include Travel Costs?

Yes. The price you see is the price you pay for all UK weddings, no hidden costs.

I Would Like An Album. Is This Possible?

Sure. I am happy to provide you with a quote for a bespoke album so let me know at any point during our time working together. The album company I use offers Fine Art and Matted albums in various materials and colours, so you are spoiled for choice. Take my word for it, they are absolutely beautiful and in my eyes, the best in the business.

How Long Does Your Coverage Last?

When you book me for a full day, I am with you for 10 hours. It’s totally up to you when you would like coverage to start and end so just let me know. Some couples like more morning preparation coverage, whilst others prefer more evening dance-floor shots. Additional hours can be added at an extra cost if you so wish as well.

How Many Images Can I Expect To Receive?

For 10 hours of coverage, you can expect to receive between 400 and 500+ hi-resolution images that are ready to print.

Can you Photoshop my images?

All of my editing is very light touch and typically involves: straightening, cropping, colour and exposure correction only and is all done in Lightroom. Any specialist editing that is needed beyond this can be provided at an additional cost.

Will My Images Be In Colour or Black & White?

I always deliver a mix of colour and black and white frames but am always happy to provide you with both colour and black and white copies of any special images – just ask.

Can We Order Prints Through You?

Absolutely. I am very happy to provide you with a quote for all the prints you require. I outsource this to the same company I use for my albums as I think they produce the best prints in the business. Just let me know the size, number and paper you would like your prints on and I can arrange all of this. They can even cater for framed prints with their beautiful, handmade wooden frames as well.
