Pennard House Wedding // Emily and Nick
I’m so excited to share the images from Emily and Nick’s Pennard House Wedding last September. (Sorry, I’m a teeny behind with the blogging at the moment, but that’s because I’ve been working on my shiny new website. Hope you like it!) Pennard House is a beautiful, country house in the heart of the Somerset countryside.
This was exactly the sort of wedding I LOVE shooting – relaxed and informal and in a venue full of natural beauty. The estate is just stunning; the house is surrounded by gardens, orchards and woodland, all making for some magical wedding photographs. I adored all the late summer colours – the leaves on the trees were just starting to change and the Virginia creeper on the house glowed amazing shades of red and copper in the glorious sunshine and provided a beautiful backdrop to the outdoor reception. The sun shone brightly all day which meant that they were also able to hold the ceremony outside on the lawn, with the couple married under the Garden Pavilion.
Emily and Nick were a dream to shoot too. They were impressively relaxed about the whole day, always joking with each other and their guests. The entire couple’s session was spent messing around (which is great as it meant they looked relaxed and their personalities shone through, meaning even more awesome photographs!) In addition, they wanted loads of candid, relaxed shots of their friends and family and for me to capture the essence of the day. From start to finish all their guests were so welcoming and joyful… and boy could they party. From mid-way through the First Dance until the time I left, the dance floor (in the lovely Coach House and stables) was never empty!
