Tuscan Villa Wedding
Mei and Adam’s Tuscan Villa Wedding
Wowsers, a Tuscan Villa Wedding! OK, I could try and be all cool and nonchalant about this, but I’d fail miserably. So, WOOOOP… I got to shoot a wedding in Tuscany! If you’d asked me to make a list of top 10 wedding destinations, Tuscany would have been right there for sure. Actually, top 3. Therefore, I am super excited to be sharing this amazingly beautiful Tuscan Villa Wedding today. In this post, Mei and Adam take centre stage for this amazing destination wedding. And doesn’t Villa Catignano near Siena provide the most perfect stage? Tuscany, you were better than I had even dreamed 🙂
However, there is no way I could do justice to how amazing this wedding was via words, so just go look at some pictures to see what I adore about Tuscan villa weddings.
OK, confession time. I adore shooting weddings across the South West (and wider UK), but getting booked to cover destination weddings, like this wedding in Tuscany, makes me do a little giddy dance.
Villa Catignano, Siena
Villa Catignano was my first experience of an Italian wedding and I really liked the relaxed, longer format. Speeches were spread over the entire wedding breakfast, instead of one big block of speeches and I felt this helped with the relaxed flow of the evening. Also, this means that as a photographer, I’m never waiting long for a few more things to photograph, instead of having a long break whilst people eat.
The villa team, caterers and wedding planners were awesome too. We were treated to a sit-down meal and they were most insistent that we have a glass of wine. Apparently, “this is how it’s done here”. Just doing my bit then, as I sipped some delicious local wine, before rushing off to capture the next part of the proceedings.
It’s hard to describe the beauty of the light in Tuscany. Once you get over the harsher sun of midday, it takes on a soft, almost rosy pink hue. Hopefully this comes across in the photos, but it was just ideal for photography and added to the romance of this gorgeous Tuscan Villa Wedding.
